History is made up of people and the things that they do. This may seem like an obvious statement, but often we can forget that there were real people with real lives that constitute the stories we love to hear today. Politicians such as George Washington, and Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor are just a couple of Americans who made dramatic impacts that have helped shape the framework of our great nation. While these two people have stories that reflect impact and history on a national level, there are important and significant historical personalities to be found right here in Oconee County.
