Get your PASSPORT to Arts, Treasures, and History!

The Oconee County Arts & Historical Commission to launch the “Passport to Arts, Treasures and History” (PATH). Designed to engage our local citizens and re-introduce them to the amazing treasures Oconee County has to offer, the Passport showcases twenty-one (21) sites for family fun. Participants who visit all 21 sites and show their completed passports by the end of the year will receive a special gem and be entered for the grand prize treasure.

Mari Noorai, Chairman of the Arts & Historical Commission, says “The Arts & Historical Commission is excited about the arrival of our Passport to Arts, Treasures, and History initiative so that residents and tourists alike can experience the PATH to discovery in Oconee County.  Our county’s history is rich, and we are hopeful that many will use this program to uncover our cultural diversity and artistic talents as we kick off our county’s upcoming sesquicentennial celebration in 2018.”


Phil Shirley, Director of Parks, Recreation & Tourism for Oconee County, says “We are thrilled to roll out our passport program, which has been in the planning stages for about six months. W

e have an abundance of cultural, historical and artistic venues and our goal is to engage with our community and create ambassadors for these treasured sites”.


Passports will be available at the Oconee Heritage Center, South Cove County Park and at manned sites listed in the passport program. The following sites are featured in the 2017 Passport.
